Creating beautiful handmade furniture

Timber

I source my wood from a select group of smaller sawmills who allow me to look through their stacks. I choose only the best pieces, sometimes with no project in mind. In many cases the timber will still have the bark attached.

Primary preparation

The timber is sized, planed and prepared for use on state of the art machinery at my home workshop.

Handwork

It is at this stage that the difference in detail between handmade and production furniture is developed and refined.

Construction

Your furniture will be constructed using traditional methods that have stood the test of time, and modern techniques, as appropriate. Many of the more complex joints will be hidden within the completed piece. However you will see them if you arrange to visit the workshop during construction.

Finishing

Good finishing takes time and attention to detail.
